The annual Advent Fair at the Christian Community will be taking place next Saturday Nov. 30th from 11 am – 3:30 pm.
The following three events – Bandura Music, Marionette Show and Sculpture Exhibit are all taking place as part of the Advent Fair. Tania Cherneta who will be performing in the Bandura Music concert has been teaching music to the teacher education students at RSCC since September of this year.
Several of the members of the Silk and Strings Troupe who will be presenting the Marionette Show (see poster below) have also taught at RSCC. These include Patti Wolfe, Laurie Harper-Burgess and Dianne Goldsmith.
Lisa Mauro, the sculptor whose exhibit is the subject of the poster below moved to Hesperus from the Ottawa valley a little over a year ago. Since then she has volunteered at RSCC Summer Festival and been active in the local anthroposophical community, in addition to her work with painting and sculpture.
The Hesperus Festival Committee invited Allan Kuhn to lead the work with biodynamic preparations at Hesperus as part of their Michaelmas festivities. As part of that event, Allan gave an engaging talk about the biodynamic preparations, which led to him being invited back again by the Polaris Branch of the Anthroposophical Society (based at Hesperus) to give this presentation (see poster below) on Biodynamics to a wider audience:
