THE ECONOMY OF LOVE – Grant Davis talks about his recent visit to the SEKEM Community in Egypt. Sunday, April 13th, 7:00 pm, at Hesperus Village, Seminar Room. Presented by the Polaris Branch of the Anthroposophical Society in Canada:

In 1977, Dr. Ibrahim Abouleish started the SEKEM Initiative on an untouched part of the Egyptian desert (70 hectares) 60 km northeast of Cairo. Using Biodynamic agricultural methods, desert land was revitalized and a striving agricultural business developed. Over the years, SEKEM became the umbrella of a multifaceted organic agro-industrial group of companies and NGOs, including different educational institutions and a medical center. Today, SEKEM is regarded as a leading social business worldwide. SEKEM became the first Economy of Love certified company in 2021.

Grant Davis is a retired computer scientist and lifelong student of anthroposophy who lectures at Rudolf Steiner College Canada, where he is also Treasurer. Grant has also helped develop Anthroposophy in Toronto and is a reader in the School of Spiritual Science. Grant will talk about his visit to SEKEM and share photos.
