The beginning

The RSCC 2025 annual Waldorf Development Conference was the first to be held at the College’s new home at Hesperus Fellowship Village. With a solid attendance of just over 85 people in person and close to 45 online, it was clear that the momentum from past years was being maintained.

RSCC teacher education program lead Paul White introduced guest our speaker Douglas Gerwin as one of the early pioneers of Waldorf education in North America. We were fortunate and grateful to have Douglas present at our conference, first time ever, if our memory serves us right.

While the core of the conference was Douglas’ keynote presentation on the multiple roles of sleep in Waldorf education and in life, the program was rounded out with music on Saturday morning, led by Anita Mayerhofer, eurythmy later in the day, with Jonathan Snow, and art in the afternoon with Regine Kurek and Micaela Gonzalez.

For many of the participants, it was their first time visiting Hesperus. One could see the attendees wandering around the grounds during breaks, lounging in the foyer by the grand piano, and having lunch on the patio by the pond or in the RSCC’s beautifully renovated teaching room.

We extend our gratitude to everyone who helped make this conference such a success. And thank you to those who came out to give us their vote of confidence in our new location!
