The Rudolf Steiner Centre Toronto is pleased to announce that we are changing our name to Rudolf Steiner College Canada, effective immediately.
Career College for Grades AND Early Childhood
The change of name reflects the school’s new status as a recognized career college. While the RSCT itself and the full-time Waldorf teacher education program for grades were approved for career college status back in September of 2020, the Early Childhood full time Waldorf teacher education program was only recently granted career college status. But as of June 7th, 2021 both full time Waldorf teacher education programs are included in the career college.
The significance of career college status is that students entering the full-time programs no longer need to have prior paid teaching experience. That change opens it up to people who might be changing careers to take up Waldorf teaching.
Other Waldorf Teacher Education Centres in Canada
We would also like to take this opportunity to recognize the work of the two other centres for Waldorf teacher education in Canada, those being the West Coast Institute for Studies in Anthroposophy and the Institut Rudolf Steiner au Quebec. We look forward to ongoing collaboration with both these institutions.
Revised Logo and Branding
The new RSCC logo (right) uses the same star flower image as before to signal continuity. The lettering is still in the same font as before, but in a lighter weight, to signify change. Over the next few days we will be updating the rest of the website to reflect the new name.
